I was hanging out in a little Alicante town that's famous worldwide, and I'd just gotten the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 ultra-wide. To see how it stacked up against the RF-S18-150mm, I figured I'd shoot a couple of similar (not identical) shots and squeeze the best out of each lens. Here are the photos—let's compare:
First thing you'll notice is how much the shot changes going from 18mm to 10mm (that's about 29mm or 16mm equivalent on full frame). The second one, shot wider, has that artistic, dramatic fish-eye vibe that—honestly—gives the image way more life. The sky colors are pretty similar in both, with that deep contrast against the side-lit clouds, though overall the tones feel a bit richer in the second one. Yeah, the settings aren't identical, so that shifts a few things, but I kept the edits really light—just some highlight tweaks and not much else. Bottom line: shooting at different focal lengths can seriously change a photo.
