Not a huge list, if we’re honest 😅… but let’s run through it:
Your shot > pick Type , Scene , Light conditions , and Subject , and I’ll toss you some starting settings. You can also read a related story — one of those little “war stories” I picked up shooting something in the same ballpark.
You can also turn the formula straight into a field note with “Convert to note” , then tweak it in Field notes — your own comments, finer settings, whatever.
Read stories > Jump straight into the stories and anecdotes from this first stretch of discovering and learning. Some will sound familiar and might ride along with you before a session. The photos and the stories are real — homemade, all of it…
Field notes > Jot whatever you want — settings and rambles about your shots. Save them as you go, and share them to socials or email with whoever you like.
Share note > Inside a note you’ll get a share option (tap the icon), pick where it goes and who gets it. You can share field notes as a little card with friends or on social.
Check list > Grab one of your notes and drop it on the Check list. Tick settings and comments one by one. Once the camera and the checklist match, you’ll get a heads-up that you’re good to shoot. Super handy for planned shots.
C1 & C2 presets > Aimed mostly at Canon R APS-C bodies, but it’ll work for any camera with custom modes. In C1 and C2 you can stash presets for a kind of shot — “macro,” “stars,” “kitchen,” you name it. Problem is the camera won’t let you label them, so a few days later you’re like… wait, what did I put here? In this module you just name the preset for C1 or C2, and it stamps the last update date. Always know what’s loaded. Simple. Practical.
My gear > First screen you saw when you opened the app. Name or Alias is the only required bit to get going. Camera, lenses (Canon RF / RF-S only — no “L”), and accessories are optional — your call. They don’t leave the phone, except lenses: when a formula suggests glass, it’ll point at the best one you’ve actually got for that shot.
Export notes > Pick one, some, or all notes and Export to the device (Downloads folder) or Share with friends / social. This spits out a CSV table any spreadsheet can open — unlike Share from Field notes, which is just a JPG card. Personal notes and ones from the results page both show up in Check list .
PhotoBones > Life and times of the character — and this app
